Frequently asked questions
How does floating help me relieve stress & anxiety?
One of the primary benefits of float therapy is its ability to relieve stress & anxiety.
1) Floating allows your mind to relax by reducing external stimuli.
Without the weight of gravity, with reduced light and sound, both your body and your mind are able to relax deeply. This total escape from the outside world allows your mind to enter a state normally reached through extensive practice of meditation, known as thate state, where the mind is somewhere between being awake and asleep. You actually cross through theta state every night when you go to sleep and every morning when you wake up, but the difference with floatation is that you stay there for an extended amount of time (and unlike traditional forms of meditation, it requires literally no effort at all!)
Being in theta state allows your mind to heal and release stress. The more often your mind enters this state, the more easily it will go into it each time and the greater the benefit. Furthermore, the effect last outside of the float tank. Research being done currently shows that the initial effects from 1 float session last for up to 24 hours.
2) Float therapy reduces the physical effects of stress
In a meta-analysis of 27 prior studies on floatation therapy, researchers discovered that floating lowers blood pressure and levels of cortisol (commonly known as “the stress hormone”). High levels of cortisol are frequently associated with elevated stress and increased risk for chronic illnesses and depression.
So not only does floating relax you in a feel-good sort of way, it also fundamentally changes your body's physica reaction to stress & anxiety, helping to return you back to your natural baseline.

How does CBD oil help me relieve stress & anxiety?
Everyone has a cell-signaling system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). CBD oil interacts with the ECS in your body by binding to and activating the CB1 receptors. Activating the CB1 receptors in the brain and nervous system has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety.
While your body naturally produces cannabidiols that work with your ECS, sometimes we don't produce enough, or the stressors in our lives outweigh the levels that we produce. That's where taking CBD oil comes into play. Think of it as topping of the tank, in a natural way, so that our ECS can function as a buffer to the stressors of life.

I've tried other things to reduce stress & anxiety, how is this program different?
Stress & anxiety are accumulated over time, and much like a single visit to the gym won't transform your body, reducing your stress in a lasting way requires creating healthy habits & routines over time.
With this program you'll get the time, the tools, and the accountability you need to make lasting changes. By layering in-center and take-home tools with healthy habits learning, tracking, and support, over the course of 6 weeks you'll be empowered to make transformational changes.
What is the consultation for?
Meeting face to face allows you to describe your pain points, other therapies you've tried, and define your goals. You'll also have the opportunity to tour our center, meet us, and find out more about how we can help you.
Do I have to sign up for the program at the consultation?
The consulation is to learn more about you, to give you the opportunity to learn how the different therapies we offer can help you, and to customize the components of the program to best serve you.
You'll leave the consult with a tailor made program that you can start at any time, and the knowledge of how each therapy can benefit you should you choose to follow up in the future.
Can I bring someone with me to the consultation?
Frequently what works for one person also works for another. We offer discounts to pairs who start the program together.
Is this safe? (especially in light of COVID-19)
1) We work with a few clients at a time and everything is cleaned completely in between each service.
2) With regard to floating, coronaviruses are inactivated by contact with water. In addition, floating is a naturally isolated & clean experience. Floating is what we like to call "maximum social distancing" as it's one person at a time, inside a pod, inside of a room, inside of a very low traffic center. Additionally, each person must shower completely both before and after floating. Unlike public pools, the float solution is cleaned completely at least 3x over between each client using a combination of hydrogen peroxide, UV light, and 10 micron filters. Our water is tested and treated twice each day, and again overnight.
3) Your consultation is one on one, upstairs on our open-air terrace.
I'm busy...does this take a lot of time?
You will be enjoying a 90 minute a float therapy session once per week in our center as well as implementing a new stress releasing habit in your life each week at home. This program has been designed to get you the MOST benefit for the LEAST amount of time invested.
During the consultation, we will work with you to find the time in your schedule for self-care and recovery. Plan to use 2-3 hours per week towards this program.
