what to expect from your consultation

At your initial consultation, you'll come in to our reception area and check in at the desk. After you check in, we'll show you around our center and then head up to our terrace to sit down and talk. You'll have time to tell us about your pain points, and we'll ask questions to help determine which combination of therapies would be of most help to you.


Most importantly, you'll get the chance have your questions and concerns answered. We want you to have the chance to learn more about us and what we offer, which is critical to getting the results you want.

After the half hour appointment, you'll have a program that is customized to your needs and we can get you set up to move forward with it when you're ready to do so.

How does floating help me to relieve pain?

Floating works on multiple levels to relieve pain. Firstly, the float environment reduces physical discomfort & pain by literally floating you in warm, skin temperature water that's saturated with Epsom salt. Floating decompresses your spine, relaxes all of your muscles, and reduces any & all physical inputs to pain. Secondly, floating rebalances your autonomic nervous system by promoting the parasympathic nervous system (rest & digest) over the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) response. Neural networks involved in pain processing are intricately linked to the autonomic nervous system, and floating will help you return your system back to baseline. How does infrared sauna help me to relieve pain?

An infrared sauna heats from the inside out, penetrating joints, muscles, and tissues, increasing circulation and speeding the flow of oxygen. Small studies have shown that usage of infrared sauna helps relieve joint pain & improve range of motion for people with arthritis and helps speed up muscle recovery & reduce soreness from exertion. It has also been shown to be effective as part of a treatment plan for chronic fatigue syndrome. As an extra benefit, regular usage of infrared sauna has been shown to have protective effects against cardiovascular disease.

How can CBD oil help me to relieve pain?

Everyone has a cell-signaling system known as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). CBD oil interacts with a core component of the ECS, the endocannabinoid receptors in your brain and immune system, to create anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects that help with pain management. Usage of CBD oil has been shown to be effective for neuropathic, joint, & muscular pain, effective for treating conditions including arthritis, migraine, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, and chronic fatigue syndrome, among others. How does yoga personal training help me to relieve pain?

A yoga personal training session will help identify issues related to body mechanics, and you'll leave your session with a 5-15 minute daily routine that you can practice at home. For instance, lower back pain is almost always associated with hyper extension in the lumbar spine, which requires strengthening the abdominal, glute, & hamstring muscles, along with conscious posture correction. While floating, infrared sauna, CBD oil, and massage are all wonderful for pain relief, a short daily practice tailored to your needs will help correct the source of your pain and prevent further injury.

How does massage help me to relieve pain?

Massage improves circulation, relaxes muscle tissue, reduces nerve compression, and releases tension in connective fascia. You'll be able to specify the areas that need working, and if you choose to have multiple massages in your program, you'll have the opportunity to work with the same therapist throughout your time. You can also choose to add CBD oil to your massage for additional, targeted pain relief.

Will this work for me?

Chronic pain has multiple facets and frequently requires a multi-pronged approach. All of the therapies we offer are proven to help reduce or eliminate pain, but individual results will vary. It is likely that you will find a particular combination that works best for you, and you will complete the program either having eliminated your pain or having one or more new tools in your toolbox going forward.

What is the consultation for?

Meeting face to face allows you to describe your pain points, other therapies you've tried, and define your goals. You'll also have the opportunity to tour our center, meet us, and find out more about how we can help you.

Do I have to sign up for the program at the consultation?

Absolutely not. The consulation is to learn more about you, to give you the opportunity to learn how the different therapies we offer can help you, and to customize the components of the program to best serve you. You'll leave the consult with a tailor made program that you can start at any time, and the knowledge of how each therapy can benefit you should you choose to follow up in the future.

Can I bring someone with me to the consultation?

Definitely! Frequently what works for one person also works for another. We offer discounts to pairs who start the program together.

Is this safe? (especially in light of COVID-19)

Yes. 1) We work with a few clients at a time and everything is cleaned completely in between each service. 2) With regard to floating, coronaviruses are inactivated by contact with water. In addition, floating is a naturally isolated & clean experience. Floating is what we like to call "maximum social distancing" as it's one person at a time, inside a pod, inside of a room, inside of a very low traffic center. Additionally, each person must shower completely both before and after floating. Unlike public pools, the float solution is cleaned completely at least 3x over between each client using a combination of hydrogen peroxide, UV light, and 10 micron filters. Our water is tested and treated twice each day, and again overnight. With regard to infrared sauna, coronaviruses are inactivated by the heat of the sauna. In addition, it is also an isolated & clean experience. The sauna is for one person (or one couple) at a time, inside of a room, inside our low traffic center. The sauna is cleaned between each use, and a clients are invited to shower both before and after their session. With regard to personal services like massage or yoga personal training, the service is provided one on one in either the massage therapy room or yoga studio, again in our low-traffic space. The service provider wears a mask and washes their hands thoroughly prior to each session. We invite clients to wear a mask for their session. 3) Your consultation is one on one, upstairs on our open-air terrace.
